Three research objectives were pursued; to what extent do Recruitment of professionals affect teachers’ effectiveness in the secondary schools in Buea municipality; to what extent do employee training on subject matter affects teachers’ effectiveness in the secondary schools in Buea municipality and to what extent do workers’ effectiveness in syllabus coverage affects teachers’ effectiveness in the secondary schools in Buea municipality. These were used to guide this study in the book. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study consisted of all teachers and HRMs in secondary schools within the Secondary schools of the Buea Municipality. The sample size consisted of 35 teachers and 15 HRMs who were randomely selected from a total number of 145 teachers and 28 HRMs. A closed ended likert scale questionnaire was used for data collection. The data was analyzed descriptively using SPSS Version 20.0. The findings that were arrived at revealed that there was no relationship between recruitment of professionals and teachers’ effectiveness in the selected secondary schools in Buea municipality, expressed in the results of: χ2 = 8.208, p=0.042. The result also indicated that there was a relationship between employee training on subject matter and teachers’ effectiveness in the secondary schools in Buea municipality as expressed in the results: χ2 = 3.55, p=0.314. The chi square results further showed that there was a relationship between workers’ effectiveness in syllabus coverage and teachers’ effectiveness in selected secondary schools in Buea municipality, as revealed in the results: χ2 = 3.433, p=0.064. Based on the findings, the following recommendations were made by the researcher. Firstly that; Quality training programs for teachers should be introduced for it to have significant relationship on the teachers’ effectiveness at school and thus can improve on the students’ performance. Secondly, the state teaching Service Commission (HRMs) should recruit competent teachers and post to the secondary schools in the state to enhance the academic performance of students in secondary schools in Buea. The government should employ competently qualified teachers and provide opportunities to encourage staff to promote skills and knowledge through workshops, seminars plus other training opportunities.
