Publication: 15 March 2025 ISBN-13: 978-81-986038-0-7 Author: ETONGE NDELEY SAMUEL This study was designed to examine “The influence of principal supervisory techniques towards students’ academic performance among secondary school in Buea Municipality. To achieve the purpose of the study, three specific objectives guided the study. To investigate the influence of principals’ classrooms visitation on students’ academic performance among secondary school, to investigate the influence of principals’ effective communication on students’ academic performance among secondary school, to investigate the influence of principals’ classroom monitoring and evaluation on students’ academic performance among secondary school in Buea Municipality. The objectives were then transformed into research questions and hypotheses respectively. Literature was reviewed conceptually, theoretically and empirically. The study adopted a correlational research design with a sample size of 309 respondents. The purposive and simple random sampling techniques were used to select the sample size. A questionnaire was used to collect data from students. Findings from the analysis reveal that; there was a statistically significant relationship between principal supervisory techniques and students’ academic performance Based on these findings, it was concluded that principal supervisory techniques influence students’ academic performance among secondary school in Buea Municipality. The study recommended that the government can organize seminars for secondary schools on principal supervisory technique; higher institutions could organize workshops with principals so that they can better learn supervisory technique for more efficiency. Suggestions were also made for further research on the same concept to be undertaken in primary schools in Fako Division of the South West Region of Cameroon and the study was limited only to a quantitative research method.
